01Two kinds of data, two different roles

This Policy covers both, and our role differs between them:

  • Site data — what you give us when you visit syntecton.com, request a demo, or communicate with us. Here we are the controller: we decide what is collected and why.
  • Platform data — the project records, drawings, correspondence, financial information and user accounts inside the Syntecton application. Here we are a processor: our customer decides what goes in and why, and we act on their instructions.
If you are a subcontractor, architect, engineer, owner or inspector invited to a project, the company that invited you controls that project's data. Send access and deletion requests to them first; we will support them in responding.

02Information we collect

You give us

  • Site: name, company, email, phone, role, company size, construction volume, current tools, and anything else you enter in our forms or send us.
  • Platform: account details for you and the people you invite, plus whatever your team puts into project records.

We collect automatically

  • Device and browser data, IP address, pages viewed, and similar analytics via cookies and comparable technologies.
  • Application logs — actions taken, by whom and when — which also form the audit trail the product exists to keep.

Consent records

Whether you opted in to marketing and non-marketing messages, with timestamp and the form used.

03How we use it

Site data: to respond to demo requests and schedule meetings; to send communications you consented to; to provide support; to improve the Site; to comply with law; and to protect our rights.

Platform data: to operate the service, keep it secure and available, provide support, and meet legal obligations — and nothing else. We do not sell it, mine it for our own commercial purposes, or use it to build profiles.

We do not use customer project data to train foundation models for other customers. Where an AI feature runs through a third-party model provider, we send only what that request needs.

04Marketing and non-marketing communications

We send marketing messages (product news, offers) and non-marketing or transactional messages (demo confirmations, reminders, service notices) only as you consented. You can opt out of marketing at any time via the unsubscribe link in an email or by replying STOP to an SMS. Transactional messages relate to interactions you initiated or to the service you use, and continue.

05SMS and text messaging

By providing your number and checking the applicable consent box, you agree to receive the texts described next to that box. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out, HELP for help. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

We do not sell or share mobile opt-in data or consent with third parties for their own marketing.

06Sharing

We share data with service providers who help us operate — hosting, CRM, scheduling, email and SMS delivery, analytics, e-signature, and AI model providers — under confidentiality obligations and only as needed to perform their function. We share with authorities where legally required, and in a business transfer such as a merger or acquisition.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising.

07International transfers

We operate from the United States, and data may be processed there. If you are outside the US, you understand your information will be transferred to and handled in the US, where data-protection law may differ from your own. Where required we use recognised transfer mechanisms.

08Retention and security

We keep Site data as long as needed for the purposes above and to meet legal obligations, then delete or de-identify it. Platform data is kept for the life of the subscription; after termination we make it available for export for thirty (30) days before deletion, unless a longer period is agreed or legally required.

We use access controls, encryption in transit, tenant isolation and audit logging, and review our safeguards as the product changes. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

09Your choices and rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data, request a portable copy, and opt out of marketing. Depending on where you live you may have additional rights — for example under the CCPA/CPRA in California, or the GDPR in the UK and EEA — including the right not to be discriminated against for exercising them.

Contact [email protected]. We will verify your identity before acting and respond within the period the applicable law requires. We honour opt-outs promptly.

For data held inside a customer's project, see section 01 — route the request to that company, and we will support them.

10Cookies

We use essential cookies, which the Site needs to function, and analytics cookies, which help us understand how the Site is used. You can manage non-essential cookies through our cookie banner or your browser settings. Blocking essential cookies may break parts of the Site.

11Children

Our services are for businesses and are not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect their personal information; if you believe we have, contact us and we will delete it.

12Changes and contact

We may update this Policy; the "Last updated" date above will change, and we will give notice of material changes. Questions or requests: [email protected] or [email protected] · 4806 W 144th Terrace, Leawood, KS 66224
